Dear Woodward-Granger Families,
I hope this letter finds you healthy, safe, and well. We have been inundated with new guidelines from the governor's office this past week. I have attached a letter I received from the IHSAA/IGHSAU seeking clarification to the governor's proclamation. I have also attached WCAC guidelines that all schools in our conference will follow. Please read these letters carefully. Below I have added additional information/clarity.
- If an athlete is absent or does not dress for the game that night, they do not get spectators for the event. You must be in uniform on the bench to get your 2 spectators.
- After each high school game, on a multi-level game night, we will clear the gym using the NE doors to make space for spectators entering the next game in the NW doors. If you have an athlete in the next game as well, you must leave the gym and re-sign in for the next game.
- This will also be the case for middle school games. Once 7th grade ends, parents must leave the gym. 8th grade parents must wait until the 7th grade game ends to sign in and enter. (Middle School activities are suspended through December 10.)Update
- 2 spectators per athlete means 2 spectators per athlete, regardless of age.
- If an athlete is dressed for the game but wants to give his/her spectator spots to someone else, please do that on your own. Please make sure it is confirmed with both parties. I don’t want an issue where it was miscommunicated and a parent cannot get into the game. If this becomes a problem, we will just say family members of the athlete allowed to sign in.
- Masks required at all times for spectators. Teams/Bench will have their own guidelines to follow.
- Still seeking information on ticket prices, wrestling meets, and away events.
I understand that this may seem crazy and not ideal, trust me I get it. This is the next step to try and mitigate the spread of this virus. I believe the next steps would be no fans and then complete shut down. We all want the kids to have seasons, and these are some of the sacrifices we need to make in order to try and make that happen. We thank you for your patience and understanding. All of the above is subject to change. As it has been since the beginning, this situation is very fluid and can change hour by hour. If anything arises, we will be sure to let you know. We appreciate your support during these unprecedented times. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out.
Respectfully,
Matt Eichhorn, CAA
