Students and teachers who test positive for COVID-19 should remain home until they are no longer infectious.
COVID-19 positive persons can return to normal activities after:
- 10 complete days since symptoms first appeared and
- 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medications and
- Other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving
If you have a known exposure you should consider staying home in accordance with public health best practices to monitor for symptoms. If a student or teacher becomes symptomatic they should stay home while ill and consider getting tested.
People with COVID-19 can have a wide range of symptoms – from asymptomatic or mild to severe illness. This can include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
